Water Treatment

Cikokol Water Treatment Plant is one of fourteen water treatment plants owned by Perusahaan Daerah Air Minum Tirta Kerta Raharja Kabupaten Tangerang, a regional water company owned by the Regency of Tangerang (PDAM). Petrosea, through its 47% share holding in PT. Tirta Kencana Cahaya Mandiri (TKCM) has an obligation to rehabilitate, up rate, operate and maintain the plant for a 15-year period.

Due to the urgent need to improve the water supply services to the community, Petrosea has determined to keep upgrading its services in providing drinking water for people, not only observing the quality aspect, but also the quantity and the continuity aspects.

After evaluation of various options, PDAM Tirta Kerta Raharja Kabupaten Tangerang appointed TKCM as the new operators of the Cikokol Water Treatment Plant. Moreover, PDAM believes that TKCM has the best ability to invest and manage the Cikokol project. TKCM formulated investment plan up to three years and was generously allocated sufficient funds of IDR72.5 billion.

The rehabilitation and up rating program will include:

• Increase the treatment capacity from 1,100 litres/second (raw water) to 1,575 litres/second
  (treated water)
• The improvement of the coagulation/flocculation unit processes
• Provide sedimentation tanks, existing equipments/structures
• Provide construction of the new intake structure
• Provide additional 4 filter units, 8,000 cum reservoir, chemicals building, distribution system, additional
  power and standby power supply.

With this new production rate, PDAM will be able to deliver a higher quality tap water and increase its service area in the Tangerang region.
