Santan Batubara

PT Santan Batubara is an equally-owned mining concession between PT Petrosea Tbk and coal mining firm PT Harum Energy (formerly PT Tanito Harum). On 19 February 1998, Santan Batubara signed a contract with the Indonesian Government to survey, explore and develop coal resources in the mining concession which measured 101,800 ha in East Kalimantan, Indonesia.  

The size of the concession decreased to 24,930 ha as Santan Batubara handed over the remaining concession to the Government to meet its relinquishment obligation. It commenced construction in 2006 and was complete in September 2008. An operating license has been granted from September 2008 to September 2038.  

Santan Batubara is currently working on operating stage. It is expected to deliver on this potential by generating coal production more than 1 million tons in 2009 and more than 2 million tons per year thereafter.
